HSI CPR and AED - 2 Year Certification

Agency:  Health and Safety Institute

Course Description:  The HSI CPR, AED Course is designed to provide a wide variety of individuals the ability to provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking on conscious and unconscious victims of all ages..  

While OSHA does not approve or endorse any types of products, the course offered by the Health and Safety Institute is designed to meet regulatory requirements.

Course Length:   Approx. 2.5 hours

Intended Audience:  Teachers, Fitness Trainers, Security Guards and Lay Rescuers

AHA ACLS Renewal: 2 Years - $175

 

**This renewal ACLS class is for those who have an UNEXPIRED ACLS certification card.***

American Heart Association: ACLS

(This course may be used for initial and renewal ACLS Certification.)

 

Part 1: Purchase the Heartcode ACLS online keycode directly from the AHA HERE($168.00)

 

Part 2: Purchase the Hands-on Skills Check $55

 

This is a SKILLS CHECK ONLY! It is Parts 2 & 3 of the Blended Learning option.

 

You MUST bring the Certificate of Completion from Heartcode ACLS to the skills check. 

 

You must have completed the HeartCode ACLS online course & have a Certificate of Completion to present at your Skills Check.

If you do not bring the certificate of completion from Heartcode ACLS, you will not be able to proceed with the skills check.

 

You will receive the SAME CARD upon completion of Parts 1 -3 as you would if you were to attend the full course in a classroom setting. Certification cards are issued electronically via email within 48 business hours of course completion.

ACLS INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATE: $350 Instructor Course + $250 Instructor Package (Includes ACLS Instructor Manual, ACLS Course DVD & Student Workbook).  Purchase package during registration or bring your own to class. Many Instructors choose to pay to have it shipped to them for an additional $15.

 

1. PROCESS OF BECOMING AN ACLS INSTRUCTOR:

  • Be accepted by an AHA Training Center (TC) prior to enrolling in the Instructor Course and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with that Training Center (Details below in section 6)
  • Have a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Card and be proficient in all the skills. 
  • Prior to class, complete the ACLS Instructor Essentials Online and print the Certificate of Completion (Details below in section 4)
  • Successfully complete the ACLS classroom Instructor Course
  • Successfully complete teaching a monitored ACLS Course within three (3) months of completing the classroom Instructor Course (Details below in section 6)

 

2. PREREQUISITES:

  • ACLS Instructors must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Card and be proficient in all the skills. 
  • Complete the ACLS Instructor Essentials Online and print the Certificate of Completion to the Instructor class. (Details below in section 4)
  • Align with an AHA Training Center accepting new Instructors (Details below in section 6)

 

3. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT:

Registration and payment for the ACLS Instructor Course MUST be received prior to class. Register early, classes fill up quickly. There are no reservations without payment. Class confirmation, directions, and Instructor Essentials keycode are sent by email. Because the ACLS Instructor Course covers a lot of material in a relatively short time, advanced preparation is required.

NOTE: All classes have an enrollment cutoff date. Registering after the cutoff date results in a late fee.

 

4. BLS INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS Required:

Completion of the Instructor Essentials Course is required to become an AHA Instructor.

The ACLS Instructor Essentials is designed to prepare the Instructor Candidate to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning courses, show how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. The Instructor Essentials Course is an online, self-directed, and discipline-specific course. A keycode is emailed to access the Essentials Course. The ACLS Instructor Essentials is a one-time-only requirement.

Continuing education credits are offered by AHA for the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course.

Upon completion of the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course, the Instructor Candidate prints a Certificate of Completion which must be brought to the classroom Instructor Course.

All keycode sales are final. The keycode cannot be returned once it is issued.

 

5. TEXTBOOK/ MANUAL POLICY:

AHA policy states, "Each student must have the current, appropriate textbook readily available before, during, and after the course." The ACLS Instructor Manual (20-1107) MUST be brought to the class.

The ACLS Instructor Manual may be purchased from Code One Safety, LLC. The manual can be picked up prior to class or mailed for an additional fee. ***Orders placed fewer than 7 days prior to the class date may not arrive in time.***

 

6. TRAINING CENTER ALIGNMENT:

American Heart Association requires Instructor Candidates to align with an authorized Training Center that is accepting new Instructors when signing up for an Instructor Course. Code One Safety, LLC automatically aligns all Instructors who take Instructor Courses and does not charge an additional alignment fee.

If Instructor is aligned with another Training Center, please inform Code One Safety, LLC in advance and bring a completed Instructor Candidate Application to class signed by that Training Center's Training Center Coordinator.

 

7. COURSE MONITORING:

Instructor status is granted and an Instructor card is issued after the Instructor successfully completes the Instructor Course and demonstrates teaching skills while being monitored during an ACLS Course. The monitoring must take place within three (3) months of completing the ACLS Instructor Course. If the Instructor is aligned with another Training Center, monitoring will be done and Instructor Card issued by that Training Center.

American Heart Association: Basic Life Support

Agency:  American Heart Association

Course Description: The BLS Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals.

Card Type:  2 Year AHA BLS Provider certification card.

Course Length: Approximately 3 hours

Intended Audience: Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.

AHA PALS Renewal: 2 Years – $175

**The 2020 Pediatric Advanced Life Support manual is required for this course. You may choose to purchase this through our website by clicking on the box to the right of the registration. If you choose not to purchase the book now, you are responsible for getting the manual and taking the course pretest before you come to class. You can pick up your copy of the PALS Provider Manual, which includes access to a Student Website. The manual may be picked up on Monday - Friday between 9 am-2 pm. We can ship your manual to you for $15 shipping. Keep in mind you MUST complete the Pre-Course Assessment PRIOR to attending class.

This is a SKILLS CHECK ONLY! It is Parts 2 & 3 of the Blended Learning option.

 

You MUST bring the Certificate of Completion from Heartcode PALS to the skills check. 

 

You must have completed the HeartCode PALS online course & have a Certificate of Completion to present at your Skills Check. 

If you do not bring your Heartcode PALS Certificate of Completion to the skills check, you will NOT be allowed to proceed.

 

You will receive the SAME CARD upon completion of Parts 1-3 as you would if you were to attend the full course in a classroom setting. Certification cards are issued electronically via email within 48 business hours of course completion.

PALS INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATE: $350 Instructor Course + $250 Instructor Package (Includes PALS Instructor Manual, PALS Course DVD & Student Workbook).  Purchase package during registration or bring your own to class. Many Instructors choose to pay to have it shipped to them for an additional $15.

 

1. PROCESS OF BECOMING A PALS INSTRUCTOR:

  • Be accepted by an AHA Training Center (TC) prior to enrolling in the Instructor Course and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with that Training Center (Details below in section 6)
  • Have a current American Heart Association PALS Provider Card and be proficient in all the skills. 
  • Prior to class, complete the PALS Instructor Essentials Online and print the Certificate of Completion (Details below in section 4)
  • Successfully complete the PALS classroom Instructor Course
  • Successfully complete teaching a monitored PALS Course within three (3) months of completing the classroom Instructor Course (Details below in section 6)

 

2. PREREQUISITES:

  • PALS Instructors must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Card and be proficient in all the skills. 
  • Complete the PALS Instructor Essentials Online and print the Certificate of Completion to the Instructor class. (Details below in section 4)
  • Align with an AHA Training Center accepting new Instructors (Details below in section 6)

 

3. REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT:

Registration and payment for the PALS Instructor Course MUST be received prior to class. Register early, classes fill up quickly. There are no reservations without payment. Class confirmation, directions, and Instructor Essentials keycode are sent by email. Because the PALS Instructor Course covers a lot of material in a relatively short time, advanced preparation is required.

NOTE: All classes have an enrollment cutoff date. Registering after the cutoff date results in a late fee.

 

4. BLS INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIALS Required:

Completion of the Instructor Essentials Course is required to become an AHA Instructor.

The PALS Instructor Essentials is designed to prepare the Instructor Candidate to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning courses, show how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. The Instructor Essentials Course is an online, self-directed, and discipline-specific course. A keycode is emailed to access the Essentials Course. The PALS Instructor Essentials is a one-time-only requirement.

Continuing education credits are offered by AHA for the PALS Instructor Essentials Course.

Upon completion of the PALS Instructor Essentials Course, the Instructor Candidate prints a Certificate of Completion which must be brought to the classroom Instructor Course.

All keycode sales are final. The keycode cannot be returned once it is issued.

 

5. TEXTBOOK/ MANUAL POLICY:

AHA policy states, "Each student must have the current, appropriate textbook readily available before, during, and after the course." The PALS Instructor Manual (20-1107) MUST be brought to the class.

The PALS Instructor Manual may be purchased from Code One Safety, LLC. The manual can be picked up prior to class or mailed for an additional fee. ***Orders placed fewer than 7 days prior to the class date may not arrive in time.***

 

6. TRAINING CENTER ALIGNMENT:

American Heart Association requires Instructor Candidates to align with an authorized Training Center that is accepting new Instructors when signing up for an Instructor Course. Code One Safety, LLC automatically aligns all Instructors who take Instructor Courses and does not charge an additional alignment fee.

If Instructor is aligned with another Training Center, please inform Code One Safety, LLC in advance and bring a completed Instructor Candidate Application to class signed by that Training Center's Training Center Coordinator.

 

7. COURSE MONITORING:

Instructor status is granted and an Instructor card is issued after the Instructor successfully completes the Instructor Course and demonstrates teaching skills while being monitored during a PALS Course. The monitoring must take place within three (3) months of completing the PALS Instructor Course. If the Instructor is aligned with another Training Center, monitoring will be done and Instructor Card issued by that Training Center.
